There are a dozens of different options you could consider when hunting down the perfect venue to have your child's birthday...and, as a Melbourne magician, I've seen them all!
I've performed everywhere from parks to parliament houses, from homes to horse stables. If you can think of a space, I've entertained there.
So let me take you through the Pros and Cons of some of the more popular options.
---
At Home
Pros
You have the home ground advantage, you don't have far to travel and everything you need is right at your fingertips.
Cons
So. Much. Cleaning. Also, did someone say 'broken vase?' Plus, If your house is small, you'll need to limit the numbers.
Verdict
If you don't mind a little cleaning, it's the place where childhood memories are made.

At A Park
Pros
Nothing beats a day in the park. You can let the kids run themselves tired have almost limitless space allows for big numbers.
Cons
You can't control the weather plus dirt, allergies and bee stings are unavoidable. It can also be difficult keeping track of the kids.
Verdict
A day in the park is nice idea, but there's just too many variables

Restaurants
Pros
There is no denying resturants can have great food and no cleaning.
Cons
Unless they have a function room, most restaurants can't handle kid's party chaos. You'll probably not have room for any extra entertainment either. And then there is the price...
Verdict
Avoid restuarants unless they have a separate function room.

Community Centres and Halls
Pros
Most halls have a fenced off play equipment and a full kitchen with plenty of space to invite as many guests as you like. Cleaning is minimal and the price is cheap.
Cons
Some of the older halls can be a little dusty and sterile so pick carefully.
Verdict
For my money, a good hall is the best value, easiest venue for a kid's party
Final Verdict?
Have the party at home or find a warm, friendly neighbourhood hall nearby.
